Elan Halpern is a co-founder of Sourmilk, the New York-based high-protein Greek yogurt brand built around clinically studied probiotic strains — "a probiotic supplement in food form." She studied computer science at Stanford and spent her early career in tech, working in developer relations and then as a product manager on developer experience at Alchemy, before leaving in 2025 to start Sourmilk with her longtime friend Kirsten Couchman. The two launched with an unconventional direct-to-consumer model, hand-delivering brown paper bags of yogurt by bike across New York City, and have since bootstrapped the brand into retail across the Northeast and beyond.
